2011.2012 Season
Dvořák & Mendelssohn (Afterworks)
Stefan Jackiw,
violin
In Symphony No. 7, Dvořák brought together dance rhythms from his native Czechoslovakia and universal emotions, with masterful effect. Violinist Stefan Jackiw returns after his sensational TSO debut in the 2009.2010 season, a performance that The Globe and Mail called "about as pure and as close to perfection as music can get." This time he performs the dazzling concerto by Mendelssohn.
Afterworks concerts are 75 minutes in length and are performed without
an intermission. Skip rush hour after your workday and be out in time for
dinner with friends or to get home early. Come to Roy Thomson Hall at
5:30pm and enjoy complimentary light hors d'oeuvres!
